A plaque commemorating the death of soldiers of the Home Army (AK)

Józef Wilk “Orlik” and Eugeniusz Morawski “Młódek” killed during the “Ghetto” action – the attempt to blow up the wall surrounding the Ghetto in Warsaw on April 19th, 1943 During the “Ghetto” action, in the fight against the Germans, four other AK soldiers were wounded. Their pseudonyms were “Atomek”, “Jasny”, “Miś” and “Karcz”. The plaque is embedded on the façade of the Church, John of God on Bonifraterska Street 12 in Warsaw.

Józef Wilk pseud. “Orlik” (born March 19, 1925 in Rzeszów, died April 19, 1943 in Warsaw). The son of an officer of the Polish Army. He was a soldier of the Home Army battalion of Sappers of the Warsaw District commanded by Lt. Józefa Pszenny, pseud. “Chwacki”. He participated in the blowing up the Ghetto wall at Bonifraterska Street in Warsaw, during which he was killed.

 

Eugeniusz Morawski ps “Młódek”

Eugeniusz Morawski pseud. “Młódek” (born probably in 1925, died April 19, 1943 in Warsaw). A soldier of the Home Army battalion of Sappers of the Warsaw District commanded by Lt. Józefa Pszenny, pseud. “Chwacki”. He participated in the blowing up of the ghetto wall at Bonifraterska Street in Warsaw, during which he died was killed.
